Abstract

|
|
Idiopathic mesenteric fibrosis is a rare condition that there is extensive involvement of the mesentery of the small bowel by a process consisting of marked thickening with lobular plaques or elevations and areas of puckering of the firmly adherent peritoneum.
The etiology is not known.
The condition is benign and spontaneous recovery usually occurs.
The diagnosis is difficult and confirmed by biopsy usually at abdominal exploration.
A case of idiopathic mesenteric fibrosis is presented and the literatures have been reviewed.
